Flexibility and reliability
Thanks to the experience gained by STIM in over 35 years of activity, the customer can benefit from the advantage of having a single interlocutor for the maintenance of production plants and for the management and maintenance of all industrial utilities.
STIM is also able to offer an effective and efficient Technological Service through dedicated Project Management activities, up to a complete Global Service which can provide direct management of the plant with dedicated personnel.
The operations area is composed of highly qualified engineers and technicians and has the most sophisticated both workshop and mobile equipment for the commissioning, control and testing of activities; this allows STIM to perform technical interventions of all kinds both in Italy and abroad.
With comprehensive full-service packages, STIM is a global reference. The packages include the installation of technological systems and utilities and all the after-sales services necessary for their management.
Revamping of existing production lines
STIM is specialized in revamping operations, i.e. in the restructuring and total or partial refurbishment of industrial plants. Revamping is an effective solution to meet new production or safety requirements of the plant, maintaining the existing line when investment costs or other needs do not justify its replacement. The reasons for restructuring existing and perhaps obsolete production lines are different: the need to increase productivity or improve the quality of the product, the desire to make adjustments from the point of view of safety, the need to insert systems for the control and collection of production statistical data. Thanks to revamping it is possible to replace the technological core of the plant, so that it responds to new production needs or regains competitiveness.
The determining factors in the choice of maintenance strategy are, on the one hand, technological, willing to increase the reliability of the machines; on the other hand, economical as to calculate the perfect ratio between the maintenance cost curve and the loss curve. Maintainability analysis is becoming more and more important in plant management and, in order to significantly reduce operating costs, we are promoting preventive maintenance, which is precisely trying to prevent failures. However, STIM also applies predictive maintenance strategies, using detection and control equipment. However, it always intervenes very quickly in case of machine failure, following the best corrective maintenance criteria.
Dismantling and relocation of industrial plants and installations (revamping)
Thanks to decades of experience in the industrial sector, STIM has specialized in the transfer of industrial plants, an activity that includes several services:
- the study and elaboration of a final plant layout
- the saving or development of new PLC programs, when necessary
- the development of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schemes
- the packaging and safety of transport equipment
- the loading and unloading of transport means
- the reassembly and connection of the line
- the start-up of the line
STIM also takes care of the possible modification of the equipment, to adapt the plant to the new layout. To transfer an industrial plant, theoretical knowledge and technical skills are required to be applied, on a case-by-case basis, individually or synergistically. STIM technicians were able to acquire these skills by gaining experience on the plants of the largest Italian food, cold and chemical industries.
Safety of machinery and plant
STIM supports both Italian and international customers in all their safety projects, from the interpretation of the legislation to the plant upgrade and organization adaptation. In particular, in addition to the standardisation of existing process and packaging machinery, it also operates in the execution and management of plants for fire prevention, for the containment of the risk of electrocution and for the standardisation of industrial areas with the presence of potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX). STIM technicians are always up to date on legislative and regulatory news; in the organizational structure there are also technicians authorized to prevent fires and to the management of construction sites in compliance with the requirements of Legislative Decree 81/08.
STIM operates an organization able to guarantee the cold chain in storage cells suitable for raw materials or fine food and pharmaceutical products, thus acting as an intermediary between producer and consumer. The goal is to support the customer in maintaining their cold chain, in the knowledge that they are dealing with products intended, in most cases, for consumer’s table.
Spare parts for machinery and plants
By developing a new plant or machine, on the basis of the itemized list, STIM immediately implements the spare parts registry, which includes the code, description, storage at our warehouse, supplier and the costs of the individual spare part. Working with this rigorous methodology gives customers immediate feedback to their spare parts needs, with extremely fast lead times.
